Watermarks in Prozorro

From August 6, 2020, suppliers in the Prozorro system that participate in tenders on our site can protect their documents with watermarks! The corresponding function will appear in the participant's account.

Why do You Need Watermarks on Documents

A key feature of the Prozorro system is complete openness, encrypted in its very name. The principle of “everyone sees everyone” since 2016 has turned public procurement into the public making these terms synonymous. However, in addition to the benefits (a more accurate understanding of where budget funds are going and an increase in the efficiency of their spending) this approach also creates some difficulties.

After the end of the auction, all documents provided by the participants as part of their tender proposal appear in the public domain. And although most of them do not contain confidential information protected by law, some of the government organizers still require suppliers to copy a passport, tax identification number, or other documents, data from which could be used by a third party without the knowledge of the owner.

To eliminate the use of electronic copies of personal documents of participants, the Smart Tender platform implemented the technical ability to impose on them the security element in the form of a watermark. Their presence is optional and can be used at the request of the participant.

Important: the presence or absence of watermarks is not regulated by the Law "On Public Procurement", and therefore, from its point of view, such documents are equivalent.

How to Make the Watermarking Documents on the SmartTender

To protect their documents with watermarks, the supplier needs to go to his SmartTender personal account and select the menu item "Additional services".
