Maksym Nefodov: We Will Sell Confiscated Goods Online at ProZorro.Sale

Maksym Nefodov, the current head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine, announced the planned integration of the ProZorro Sale service into the confiscation mechanism at the conference Centralization of State Resource Management.

As the ideologist of the ProZorro system, he especially emphasized the importance of replenishing the list of lots with additional assets from property confiscated by customs. Now the service is selling:

special permits for mining;
rental rights for wagons, gondola cars, and grain carriers;
real estate objects (premises and complexes);
unfinished objects;
equipment and vehicles;
use rights;
enterprises and shares of enterprises;
timber products.

This list is constantly updated, including quite exotic offers. Now there will appear, for example, gadgets.

What Does Selling At ProZorro Mean

The innovation will increase transparency in another major segment of government activity. As a result, budget revenues will increase and the amount of possible abuse will be reduced. Digital is the only effective way to fight corruption.

The ProZorro Sale system showed excellent results: more than UAH 20 billion of total earnings, of which almost one and a half billion due to small-scale privatization. Therefore, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to switch from a pilot project to full use of the service.

In addition to the sale of confiscated goods, the next step is large-scale privatization, sale of property of debtors and sale of land after the lifting of the moratorium. But these are completely different stories.
