In many countries of the world, the use of electronic public procurement has long been no wonder. A significant part of the global community has switched to digital ways. The fact that a foreign supplier gradually enters ProZorro’s tenders does not seem strange.

The influx of non-residents in public procurement is facilitated by the availability of information online and the possibility of remote participation. Suppliers from more than 30 countries of the world already have experience in winning ProZorro. The geography is vast: from Canada and Ireland to India and Malaysia.

But this is not common practice: many countries block access to tenders to foreign participants, thereby supporting the national producer by giving him preferences in public procurement. Here are some examples of both approaches:

Japan. Contracts for government contracts are rarely concluded with foreign companies. When making decisions, the business reputation and mental affinity of national partners are evaluated.
Canada. In this country, a similar situation is dictated by patriotic motives and the desire of the government to demonstrate an economical attitude to taxpayer money.
Poland. Customers and courts are also not inclined to recognize participants registered outside the country, and, as a rule, decide on their disqualification.
Czech Republic. The country, on the contrary, maximizes the participation of suppliers from other countries in the competition: you can submit documents by Czech law, but executed according to the laws of your country.

In Ukraine, non-residents actively participate in tenders for the purchase of services in the areas of the oil and gas industry, construction work, maintenance of industrial equipment, and the supply of laboratory and high-precision equipment. Currently, the registers of 76 countries have been added to the system and this is not the end!
