By tradition, several interesting locations are located in the capital at once. Let's talk about the most ambitious:

Fairs in the city center

First of all, you should visit the main Christmas tree of the country on Sofia Square. This year, the location is decorated in the form of a traditional nativity scene, which, incidentally, has become the largest in Europe. Here you can ride, take a photo, and have a delicious snack. The location is open until January 16.

A large festive location "Christmas in Podil" in the style of European fairs was opened on Kontraktova Square. Here you can ride from an alpine slide, ride on a walking skating rink and attractions and look at the city from the top of the observation wheel. At the location, the residence of St. Nicholas and the food court are open for guests. The fair will run until January 23.

Other interesting locations in Kyiv

The Winter Country traditionally opened at VDNG. Here you can visit Santa's residence and the Christmas Dream Factory, learn interesting facts from the history of the Christmas tree and the holiday itself in the New Year's Museum, ride a large ice rink and spend time on interactive thematic locations. Winter Country will run until March 6.

You can also recharge your festive mood at the ice rink and food court of Roshen Winter Village and visit a winter town in the style of the world of Harry Potter at the Osocor Winter Village.

If you have already visited all the capital's Christmas trees, near Kyiv you can visit another festive location – the New Year's town in Dobropark. The residence of Dobrochar (Ukrainian Santa) was equipped here, rides, and a park of 3D light figures were placed. At the location, you can attend thematic masterclasses, learn how New Year's toys are made, go to the bakery and the Dobrochar scientific laboratory, and, of course, have a delicious snack.

Dobropark is located in the Motyzhyn, 18 km from Kyiv along the Zhytomyr highway. The festive location will be open until the end of January.

Lviv

The Lviv New Year's Fair is traditionally located in the historical and most picturesque part of the city – on Rynok Square and Svobody Avenue. The location was decorated with a live 17-meter Christmas tree, holiday lights, and Christmas houses. All guests can go ice skating, try delicious hot dishes and buy souvenirs. Or take a tour and enjoy the beautiful architecture with festive paraphernalia. The location will be open until January 20.

Kharkiv

The Kharkiv holiday fair was organized on Freedom Square – here you can see a Christmas tree, skate, and taste delicious hot dishes. Also, everyone can visit the Fantasy Park with beautiful holiday installations and entertainment programs, and immediately after it visits the Residence of Santa Claus, which this year was located in the Kharkiv Municipal Cultural Center. The fair will run until January 16.

Odesa

This year, the main Christmas tree of the city was decorated with marine motifs, and next to the usual illumination, placed an installation of octopus. The New Year's Fair is located on Primorsky Boulevard and Deribasivska street. At the location, you can ride on attractions, take pictures near beautiful photo areas, taste delicious food on the food court and buy holiday souvenirs. The fair will be open until January 15.

Another interesting experience will be the meeting of the New Year by the sea. On the holiday night, you can go out to the water and enjoy the fantastic fireworks.

Budapest, Hungary

Hungary's most beautiful fair is on Vörösmarty Square in Budapest. The organizers always choose the best manufacturers, so here you can buy very high-quality goods: handmade leather, wood, ceramics goods, Christmas toys, jewelry, and more. There is also a food court with traditional Hungarian cuisine, an entertainment program, and a festive light show. The location will be open until January 1.

Prague, Czech Republic

The city's main Christmas tree will open in Staroměstské Square. In 2019, the Prague Christmas Fair was included in the TOP-5 of the best in Europe and was recognized as one of the most beautiful in the world. This year you can buy handicrafts: Christmas decorations, blankets, straw, crystal, and Moravian glassware, as well as a variety of Czech dishes, including traditional soup made with cognac and caramel. The location is open until January 6.

Krakow, Poland

Every year, the Krakow Christmas Fair gathers traders from all over Poland, so you can find a wide variety of souvenirs: Christmas decorations and products made of wood, glass, or ceramics, as well as local delicacies: sheep cheese, antique pies, roasted chestnuts, marzipan and much more. You can visit the location until January 2.

Strasbourg, France

Strasbourg is called the "capital of Christmas" because during this period the whole city turns into a big holiday fair. The 12 squares house a Christmas tree and a skating rink, shopping malls with traditional souvenirs (decorations, original toys, nativity scenes, etc.), handicrafts, holiday and national dishes, as well as products from local manufacturers. You can taste foie gras, "Christmas log" (traditional dessert), and French homemade wine until December 30.

London, UK

London hosts one of the brightest fairs – Winter Wonderland. Its entertainment program includes more than 200 attractions, workshops, and circus performances. Anyone can try to create an ice sculpture, ride the largest ice rink in the UK and sit in the bar, where all the furniture is made of ice. At the holiday fair, you can also taste traditional street food, buy decorative products from local manufacturers, Christmas decorations, and other interesting goods. And finally – ride on one of the highest ferris wheels in the world – the London Eye. The location will be open until January 3.
